Historien rundt Roland og hans ka-tet (skjebnefelleskap) dekker et helt univers, både som episk fortelling, (det vil si at forfatteren har skapt en egen verden hvor handlingen er lagt), og som det universet Kings bøker befinner seg i. Jeg sier at dette er mine favorittbøker, men de er også mange andres favorittbøker. De blir regnet blant de store episke verkene innen fantasy på linje med Ringenes Herre, Harry Potter og Game of Thrones.
