Hensikten med så vel serien som denne boken, er å stoppe opp ved de mange underligheter og minner fra Oslos historie som finnes rundt om i vår hverdag
de vi ser hver dag uten å tenke hvor de kommer fra, eller hva de kan fortelle om byens historie.
Samtidig er det verdt å merke seg forfatterens tanker om sin formidling av dette stoffet: «Målet er at vi skal undre oss og kanskje humre litt, mens vi lærer noe nytt om det vi trodde vi visste fra før.»
