A quiet novel about a group of young Native Americans living in a reservation. One of them, in a rather mysterious way, finds himself with a magic guitar. He starts a band with his bullies.
The novel is both about their choices and challenges as much as their world view, their relationship to the wind, their dreams, their place in the family, for example. First and foremost it is about being accepted for the one they are, both in the reservation and in the "white" world.
Considered for vg1 students: not suitable; definitely not a page turner. To me the novel lacks the rising action with enough suspense to continue. Quiet humour.

Det kan godt henda Reservation Blues ikkje passar for vg1. Kva med for oss andre?
Til vg1: har du prøvd The absolutely true diary of a part-time indian av Alexie? Den kan eg tenkja meg kan funka for den aldersgruppa - den er i det minste skriven for ungdom, og tek opp mange av dei same temaa som denne ser ut til å gjera (og som mesteparten av forfattarskapen til Alexie gjer).
