A state of the art pageturner. Crichton seems to know a bit about airplanes, and he gives the reader a convincing description of a fictitious passenger carrier and the search for the cause of a serious accident in the air. Technical descriptions are skillfully adjusted to a comprehensible level. The story is presented in a semi-digested form, everything is in strict chronological order and chapters rarely exceed three pages. Easy and exciting reading for all that it is worth.
