We kissed again and I was now sparkling and shining just like Mum wanted. I didn't care that we were both soggy from the snow. The important thing was that I'd found my dance partner, the one who made me laugh every day, who hugged me simply because it was Tuesday, who held me when I cried and who danced in the rain with me.
I shook my head and closed the door. I could clearly hear Mum's voice in my head: There's always somebody having a tougher time than you. Be grateful for the small things and keep dancing in the rain. 'You've got this,' I whispered. 'Keep dancing.'
