The one thing that is a common thread in many religions is that there is an Afterlife, and all religions seem to agree that if you live the way you're supposed to according to their rules, you'll be blessed with eternal life. So, if there is an "eternal life," doesn't that point to people existing in some kind of Afterlife? And if they're there, why is it so impossible to believe that they'd want to communicate with the living?
