Crap. Lured by a promising dust-cover and the amazing fact that it has been on the New York Times bestseller list for a year, I thought this might be a cool book. Wrong. This is "Hardy Boys going spiritual". The narrating is poor, the dialogue is constructed and predictable, and some of the scenes from Peru are so hilarious that I doubt Redfield has ever been out of his own county before writing this epos. The sad thing is that the concept of the book could have worked if undertaken by a competent writer with more -uh- insight ....
