George slides down from the bunker and moves over to Albert. As he draws nearer, Albert finds himself rising up and taking George into his arms. Slowly, the two of them begin to dance. On the side of the moors high above Toddington, they dance to the sound of 'Somewhere'. And they dream that – one day – they, too, will find a place where their love can be accepted, a place where their love can be free.

As he does, he replays the words in his head.
I love you a little bit more than yesterday and a little bit less than tomorrow.
And he knows from now on, whenever he misses George, whenever they aren't able to be together, it will be with these words that he'll remember him.

It struck him that he'd taken a word that had been used against him and twisted it around to make it work for him – so not only could it no longer hurt him but it was his way of getting his own back on the world. And not only that, if the other boys had mocked what they saw as George's feminine traits, then dressing up as a woman and being applauded for it was surely another way of doing the same thing. He felt a fluttering of pride.
