Omtale fra forlaget
In this extensively researched account, Nikolai Kingsley sets out his detailed
and often controversial assessment of politics in the Arctic in the period
2007-2013. The author examines the ways in which the Nordic States have
confronted the security challenge of the Russian Federation as it returns to
a position of military strength. For the first time, leaked diplomatic cables, as
well as news media, are used to uncover the true state of relations between
East and West in the High North. The findings presented stand in stark
contrast to official government statements which stress that the Arctic is
a region of low tension, free from serious security concerns.
Nikolai Kingsley (b. 1986) is an aspiring Norwegian researcher who writes
