This book charts the recorded highlights of the original shockrocker and heavy metal pioneer, both as a dramatic interpreter of songs in Black Sabbath and as a writer and co-writer for his own groups throughout the 1980s and 1990s. It includes information about the changing line-ups of his bands, anecdotes from the studio sessions, insights into the lyrics, cover art and developing musical directions. The author also describes how Ozzy's personal circumstances influenced the music he made as he lurched in and out of rehab, confronted deranged followers and protesters, defended himself against allegations that his music made dangerous impact upon youngsters, and saw many of his friends and colleagues succumb to illness, and die, from the lifestyle he himself once heartily embraced.
