Welcome to the third edition of the magazine Legal Justice?
This magazine has arisen from an innocent conviction. The details are extensively described in the book "Wrongfully Convicted" and on Rettssikkerhet.org
Most Norwegians have high trust in the rule of law. It is not justified.
How individuals are treated inside depends on their status, power position, and focus areas set by the Attorney General's Office, which ambitiously pursues convictions in the police and prosecution units, ethnicity, gender, industry, and other factors. Evidence in the case is subordinate. Both the police and the prosecution manipulate it to secure a conviction in the district court and ensure that the appeal to the Court of Appeal is dismissed.
In this issue, we examine the legal violations at DNB Bank ASA that underlie this wrongful conviction.
This is followed by a thorough review of the legal violations by the prosecution authority, interspersed with the ethical guidelines for employees in the same organization.
There is an alarming gap between what they portray themselves as in public and what happens behind closed doors. The reason this can happen at all must be that most individuals wrongfully convicted do not dare to speak out about what they have been subjected to, fearing public scrutiny.
I hope this can give you a truer picture of the rule of law in Norway so you can protect yourself, your business, and those you care about.
