Omtale fra Den Norske Bokdatabasen
The contributors to the present volume analyse the politics and policy of the EU in order to assess how state-like the European Union has become. The book develops and extends the research agenda that Kjell A. Eliassen has done so much to establish and develop. The book adresses three broad themes that are central to the study of the EU in the late 2000s: the politics of the EU, including the politics of the Constitutional Treaty; the EU system of governance and its relationship to the member states; and selected sector analyses of public policy in the EU, from the regulatory politics of telecoms and the media to welfare state policy and the increasingly important matter of police cooperation in Europe. The book is relevant both for students and for those whose work requires them to keep up to date with the development of the European Union.
