The aim of this atlas is to demonstrate EUS-images of the upper gastrointestinal tract using dedicated echoendoscopes with rotating and linear transducers as well as transendoscopic miniprobes. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has been performed at Haukeland University Hospital, University of Bergen, since 1987. This method has made it possible to image small lesions which often can not be seen using other imaging techniques, and to obtain EUS-guided biopsies, to perform EUS-guided therapeutic procedures and to study pathophysiology of the gut.
